Is there a library near me that has the book I need?

Answer

AU Library doesn't always have the item you need. You can see if the item you need is available in a library near you by searching in the WorldCat catalogue: https://www.worldcat.org/

When you have found the item you are looking for, open up the full record. Under the section "Find a copy in the library", there is a box in which you can enter your postal code. Click the "Find libraries" button to see which libraries near you have the item you're looking for.

Once you have found a local library that has the item you need, it's a good idea to click on the library link. You can can confirm that the library has what you're looking for, and can see the item's call number (you will need this to retrieve the item from the shelves).

You can get borrowing privileges at college and university libraries across Canada with a COPPUL card, and can get borrowing privileges at public libraries across Alberta with a TAL card: http://library.athabascau.ca/OtherCanadian.html

Outside of Alberta, or Canada, you can sign up for borrowing privileges at a public library near you: https://www.worldcat.org/libraries
