What happens with library materials while Canada Post is on strike?

1) Q: I need to return my library materials but Canada Post is on strike, how do I do this?

A: Please hold onto any materials you have due back, you can renew them following these instructions.

 

2) Q: If Canada Post goes on strike, how will I get my course materials? 

A: AU has already started sending course materials to students via courier. Students will continue to receive course materials without disruption. If you are expecting course materials, they will arrive via Purolator. 

 

3) Q: If Canada Post goes on strike, how will I get my science lab kit? 

A: Lab kits will be sent to students via courier. Students will continue to receive lab kits without disruption. If you are expecting a lab kit, it will arrive via courier (either Purolator or DHL). 

 

4) Q: Will I have to pay to receive my course materials or science lab kit because they are being sent by courier? 

A: No, there is no cost to the student. 

 

5) Q: I have a library book on loan that I need to return. How do I do that? 

A: Please hold on to your borrowed materials until any potential labour disruption is over. 

 

6) Q: I’d like to borrow a library book, can I still do this? 

A: During a Canada Post disruption, AU will pause all hard-copy library loans to students. All digital loan materials will still be available to students.  

 

7) Q: Can my course materials or lab kit be delivered to a PO box? 

A: No. If you have \ a PO box on file as their address, we will reach out for an alternate street address to use to deliver the package.
